Actually watch it really close in full screen. Right where the "wing" stretches out you'll notice that shadow in front of the tree sits back on its haunches like a dog. I 'm positive that not a wing since it doesn't have to same structure as a bird but I haven't figured out what it is yet.

I'm almost positive that's not a bird. It's a reasonable explanation unless you know the nature of birds and I don't see that being a bird. The movement is all wrong. Not only that it's a closed indoor set and that would be one big bird for no one to have noticed.
But it's not a hanging because you would see it swing back into frame. My guess is it's just a stage hand or equipment.

If you look in the earlier scene you can see that buzzards in the back ground are unconroled and just five secs you can see the buzzards head.

that is a bird in the back BUT! The real hanging is the chimney in the original

Nope...I have the 50th anniv. VHS release from 1989 (this is when the "hanging Munchkin" rumor first got started), and the scene looks exactly the same there. Also, why is the same bird clearly visible earlier in the scene (during "If I Only Had a Heart")?

This is about the 10th place I've heard the hanging actually occurs in...when people can't agree on a detail like that, it's usually a sign that w/e you're hearing's not true. |
